Browser mode is limited by WebRTC. For 20–30 GB, run the small Drop Turbo app on a computer. It shows a link and QR code, and the other device (phone or computer, any browser) opens it to send or receive files over plain local TCP. Nothing to install on the other device.
- Run it. Windows: click “More info → Run anyway”, then allow access on Private networks. macOS: unzip, right-click → Open (or System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway). Linux:
chmod +xit and run. - On the other device, scan the QR code or open the link it shows.
- Send files to the computer, or download files from its
Downloads/Dropfolder.
- Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi. Use 5 GHz / Wi-Fi 6, or plug one in with Ethernet, for top speed.
- Works best in Chrome or Edge. Keep both tabs open and the screens on while sending.
